Christopher Peter Meloni (born Christopher Peter Meloni) is an American actor who is best known as a character on the well-known television series Law & Order Special Victims Unit. From the time he was in university Christopher Meloni was attracted to the world of acting. He pursued a degree in acting at University of Colorado at Boulder. His television characters have earned him plenty of popularity. He is able to play both characters from the side of the police as well as the different. That's what makes him so popular. His first project was a television serial, but he later played as a detective with the NYPD. In recognition of his performance on tiny screens, he's been awarded multiple nominations for prestigious Emmy Awards as well as PRISM Awards. One of his most striking facial features is said to have been the piercing blue eye that has helped him portray characters who appear rough and fascinating. He was named in People's magazine's list of Sexiest Men Alive in 2006.
